Cyber & Defence Focused

Center of Cyber Education (CCE) • The CCE conducts a broad range of outreach activities related to cybersecurity awareness and K-12 computer science education.

Raspet Flight Research Laboratory • Using the largest fixed-wing UAS fleet in U.S. academia, Raspet leads key research efforts for clients in defense, homeland security, and private industry.

Alliance for System Safety of UAS though Research Excellence (ASSURE) • The Alliance for System Safety of UAS through Research Excellence (ASSURE), the FAA’s Center of Excellence for UAS Research. is an MSU-led coalition of more than 30 universities working to safely integrate UAS into the national airspace.

Engineering, Computing & Materials Science

Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) • A world-class technology development center creating solutions in autonomy, additive manufacturing, computational fluid dynamics, next-gen materials and more.

High Performance Computing Collaboratory (HPC²) • With more than 10 PetaFLOPS of combined computing power, HPC2 manages one of the largest supercomputing centers in U.S. academia.

Institute for Computational Research in Engineering and Science (ICRES) • Focuses on engineering challenges facing the U.S. industrial base suing advanced modeling and simulation.

Marvin B. Dow Advanced Composites Institute (ACI) • ACI designs, manufactures, and validates cutting-edge composite technologies while growing the composites manufacturing workforce.

Institute for Imaging and Analytical Technologies (I²AT) • The Institute for Imaging and Analytical Technologies (I2AT) provides access to specialized research tools that enable innovators to advance cutting-edge research and commercialize new technologies by observing and analyzing structures at multiple scales.

Science, Health & the Environment

Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security (GCAHFS) • The GCAHFS aims to reduce world hunger through research that supports sustainable aquaculture and ecological health of aquatic resources.

Mississippi State Chemical Lab (MSCL) • The MSCL is a state-appropriated regulatory agency integral to safeguarding the quality and safety of agricultural and environmental resources in the State of Mississippi.

Northern Gulf Institute (NGI) • The Northern Gulf Institute (NGI) is a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Cooperative Institute comprised of six academic institutions that are geographically distributed across the U.S. Gulf Coast states.

Education, Social Science & Policy

Research and Curriculum Unit (RCU) • RCU supports career and technical education in Mississippi by developing curricula and assessments, as well as training educators.

Social Science Research Center (SSRC) • The Social Science Research Center (SSRC) engages in multidisciplinary research to address critical social issues. With 75 years of experience, the SSRC collaborates with faculty, students, and external partners to conduct research and evaluation and promote public service initiatives that benefit communities locally, nationally, and globally.

National Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center (nSPARC) • NSPARC’s team of science scientists, economists, data engineers, data analysts, and machine learning experts use applied research to drive real-world applications.
