The Open Source Intelligence Laboratory (OSIL) at Mississippi State University aims to intersect rigorous research
methods with open source intelligence data (OSINT) gathering to increase the capability, effectiveness, and
efficiency of intelligence communities through scholarship and policy. Our unique partnerships with OSINT
practitioners bolster our ability to create a multidisciplinary approach to OSINT analysis and implementation.
OSIL also serves as an objective, institutional resource for policy, legal, ethical, and practical questions
regarding OSINT, and provides tailored training on our innovative strategies for those who work within the
field. OSIL develops proprietary analysis tools specific to OSINT for use by academic collaborators and funders.
